Water, Wastewater & Power
Director: Rodney Huffman

We have a 500,000 gallon “spheroid” water tower in Oakley.  We have four wells that pump water to our system and water tower.  Each well is injected with chlorine to ensure safe drinking water.

Our wastewater treatment plant is a mechanical trickling-filter plant. The plant is designed to handle 400,000 gpdof wastewater.  We currently receive approximately 150,000-200,000 gpd of wastewater.

Oakley also owns its owner power plant with four working engines.  Although the City no longer produces power on a regular basis, we are capable of producing enough electricity to power the entire city if needed.
